42. This was the case for my mother, as well

They have a name for adult children with sickly parents who also have young children "The Sandwich Generation." Aren't they clever? <sarcasm>

It was hard enough to take her out for a day -- what with pushing her wheelchair, reading for her, tending to her in public restrooms that in no way accommodated her -- all whilst watching my young child!!! It was insane. She weighed more than me, and the chair was nearly impossible to manage alone -- and I had to watch for my child in parking lots, etc. OMG, isn't it enough that the nursing home took every penny from the sale of her home, car, and possessions -- and then got her monthly social security and pension?????????

I will never get over it -- and now they want to make it even HARDER for families?

You cannot imagine the stress unless you've lived it.
