Right-wingers hate electric cars and make things up about their performance, exaggerating the flaws. This is why they were very upset upon hearing that George Bush Sr. purchased a Chevy Volt as reported by Forbes and others yesterday:

Word is out that President George H.W. Bush, in a move that is enough to make me sentimental for the days when a Republican could lead his party to the White House while still possessing a level head, purchased a Chevy Volt for his son, Neil.

Visiting the "Freerepublic" website and reading comments about Bush's purchase is enough to find out how pissed off these oil-lovers are. They are even calling him names!
