In reply to the discussion: A Veterinarian Locked Himself In A Hot Car For 30 Minutes. [View all]MindPilot
(12,693 posts)10. I almost did it a couple weeks ago...scared the hell out of me.
I was working on my car, and completely unknown to me, my black lab climbed in and curled up in the back seat. I finished, locked everything up and went inside. Just out of pure luck, I went back outside and noticed the car moving a bit. It had only been like ten minutes and a fairly mild day, but it was already uncomfortably hot in the car.
I'm very glad that my puppy didn't have to wait until I looked around and said "where's the dog?"

I locked myself in the band van for 30 minutes once. Took the drummer that long to get me out.

And watch out for cats. The sneaky bastards will jump in when your not looking.

I leave my dog in the truck with the engine running, the doors locked and the air on.
