It IS easy to manipulate the system. I watched it happen. The idea that only democrats or republicans are electable, the only "viable alternatives", so to speak, is symptomatic of that system which is so easy to manipulate it - it promotes it, encourages it, enables it. The same damn thing happens whenever a person with more money runs for office against a poorer candidate. What happened in 2008 though, proves that someone poorer, less known, less beloved by the establishment... can actually succeed. I'm talking about Obama.
Do you think that someone's a more viable alternative merely because of a D next to their name? I mean, regardless of voting records, policies, actions and words? If so, I can't help you.
I think you missed a couple too. Where are the accusations of treachery for not supporting the established democratic party? Where's the OMG you are HELPING republicans get elected?
Your kind of reasoning is why we so very often have to hold our noses when voting.
