5. I would opine in the negative

From the poll, the right wing meme that government doesn't work has a majority in both parties.

Of course, repubs and Democrats feel the government isn't on their side for totally opposite reasons. That is still good news for the conservatives, since the more Democrats that feel the system fails them and they are powerless to change it, the fewer Democrats will vote. republicans, on the other hand, will just vote to move farther right.

The Democrats' job is to get the people to connect the dots that it has been the rightward lurch of our policies since reagan that has made their lives worse. And, the only way to remedy that is to vote Democratic.
