Getting an attorney without first being denied might be an issue. That goes against common advice. However applying for SSDI has been made all the greater obstacle by Rethuglacan lead de-funding of the agency (The local office has cut back to being open only 4 days a week with a staff half of what it was 9 years ago). So, don't lose hope.

You are a strong voice for Texas here on DU.
