Well I live in a neighborhood with a significant level of gun violence and I have bullet holes in my car to show for it. I'm not afraid to step outside except if shots are being fired. Then I would be an idiot to do so.
Guns have a 95% lethality rate for suicide. They make it very easy. They are extremely efficient at killing, which is of course is what they are designed to do.

Those deaths are tragic, but, while not discounting these deaths, 2/3 are suicides,
