There are a number of things that can be done to help reduce the gun violence, things like Universal background checks, beefing up the ATF to actually go after those straw purchasers, harsher penalties for those that commit crimes using a firearm, mandatory safety course for purchase of a firearm, much like a hunter safety course, better mental health system, end the war on drugs, more jobs, more jobs, more jobs.

Just a few proposals.
