(38,403 posts)7. A side note on the the Hawk missile system made by Raytheon
I was working for a moving company in the late 70s and early 80s and we had the contract to move Raytheon employees. The Hawk system was being exported to Turkey and Greece and it was delay after another in moving the Raytheon technicians to teach the host nation's personnel how to use it. Came to find out the delay was the US Government......they were revising the technical manuals from a 9th grade reading level to 7th grade reading level. The growing pains of the all volunteer army. The era of cartoon maintenance manuals.
