I have to add that I spoke to my mother today, and churches are getting organized to do a lot of the heavy lifting with this crisis.

The only organizations we have in our society that are flexible enough and compassionate enough and well organized enough to deal with situations like the influx of these children are the Red Cross (very limited in fact) the churches and over the longer term organizations like the Kiwanis.

When they can't do the job, the only resource is our military. I believe that if the influx of children grows, we will have to house and school them on military bases. We are not able to deal with so many minors entering the country this way with our present, very limited social service resources.
