Will the Putin fan club go the way of the Mugabe fan club here on DU? [View all]

I've been here 10 years. Long enough to remember that some people would defend Bobby Mugabe because he spewed a lot of anti-Western rhetoric. Slowly his supporters on DU withered on the vine as his autocratic and incompetent rule became more and more indefensible.

The term "fascist" is overused, misused, and shopworn, but the Putin regime fits that bill more than an irrelevant population of neo-Nazis in Kiev.
