(62,536 posts)That's how people vote. Unfortunately, we have a first past the post, plurality vote system. People do in fact vote interests or potentials as opposed to desires.
Corporate contributors don't "beholden" a given candidate to them. This is a really sad and pathetic meme. Corporations are not people, and it is illegal for them to direct employees to contribute a certain way (and in fact we have prosecutions for owners of any company that attempts to do this).
And here's where your post reflects my original post #33 in this thread: "I cannot stomach another president who is liberal except on matters that concern the welfare of working people."
This is correct. You only want to usher in right wing populism. That is, we go after the bankers, but who cares about the gays, who cares about womens rights, who cares about all that, right?
The thing that is going to shock you is that Clinton will talk up an inequality platform. 2016 will be the time, the demographic shift is almost there (2030 whites are a minority; when you consider the woman vote, she gets it easily).
And the right wing populism continues with the disdain for India, the worlds largest actual practicing democracy. H1-B? Fix it by fixing the immigration rules. Let them actually stay. Oh wait, that's feeding into more right wing populist anti-immigration shit.
It's all about right wing populism, in the end. And that's just making me want to see Hillary Clinton run more than ever. And I don't even want her to run. Think about that one.
