37. Easter was a pagan fertility feast day

It celebrates the Goddess Eostre and its symbols are bunnies and eggs. Even the way they figure out the day goes back to pre-christianity.


Like Christmas and a few other Catholic/Christian Holy days, they chose the dates to fall on the feast days of the people they were converting. It's easier to convert the masses if you don't take away their days to feast and make merry.

Anyway.... just correcting some misconceptions.
