(18,186 posts)110. Rest in Beautiful Peace, Dear Raindog
This just cut me to the bone.
She was one of my favorite DUers.
As some of you know, been having a tough time myself and can't be here very much until things get resolved. I know the deep feelings of worthlessness our society heaps on those of us who aren't wealthy or physically perfect.
It kills me that Raindog is gone because of politics and social attitudes that degrade the soul, dehumanize the human, undervalue and undercompensate those who work so, so hard.
Be kind to those you know who are poor and struggling. Send them a few bucks. Get off your high horse and realize they probably work their asses off and your snubbing and judgmental attitudes about their position in life are SOUL-KILLING.
There are many on DU who aren't insufferable snobs, many who will help a fellow person in need, but those of you who are insufferable snobs know who you are. Help somebody else you know who is suffering as Rain Dog suffered. That's what she would want from you right now.
I loved you, RE Paris.
May you find the peace and acceptance you sought but never found in this corrupt, greedy world
to all who knew and loved her.

She was certainly the only DUer named after a TW album. But what a great record it is.

As the survivor of someone who died unexpectedly, this is not a good question to ask

I can appreciate the sensitivity. It is still hard for me to speak of my parents' deaths..

I can't believe we'll never see another post from RainDog, after all these years...

I know, she was here with us just a few days ago, and now she'll never be here again.

Well, I'm a half-assed Buddhist, so I don't believe that the death of our physical bodies is the end
