And just because people aren't paying attention doesn't mean he's not working on issues in Gaza, the Ukraine, and the US-Mexico border.

SOS Kerry has been working like a dog on brokering a cease-fire in Gaza. Just because it fell apart at the last minute through no fault of his own doesn't mean he didn't try. And will continue to try. Kerry et al. don't head out into the world without the POTUS's say-so, so yes this is Obama's spine at work.

According to Rachel Maddow Obama just imposed the toughest sanctions on Russia since before the Cold War ended, and is gradually bringing Europe along too. So there's some more spine for ya.

As for the US-Mexico border crisis -- do you suppose you can get Congress to do their damn job? Oh wait, they just headed out for summer vacation. From what I read, Obama is looking into an Executive Order on that, but those things can't be produced overnight or they won't hold up the next day or week. More spine there, too.
