But when I think of "pretty good" gas mileage, I'm thinking of 30-mpg at the bare minimum, which is what my 1998 Chevy Cavalier averages, and it only set me back $2200 when I bought it a year ago.

You don't have to spend big money for an decently efficient car, just need to do a little bit of research before you buy.
