11. I keep hoping that republicans out there with a working concience

will just walk away and become independents. seriously, how do they keep straight faces. I discuss things in a small political group which has both liberals and conservatives - there is one republican who makes reasonable comments and crosses the party line a lot lately, but there are three who mouth the party line and complain we are bullying when we confront them with facts. We were discussing climate change and one conservative bemoaned that she just wanted the facts - now it is a very treat us like children no bashing or hinting at an insult of the other person which allows this forum to exist. It is so hard to reply sometimes without prefacing with you idiot. I don't want to destroy the forum because some will explain how their minds kind of work and it is fascinating and you can get someone to talk themselves into a corner for fun.
