Right Wing rumors aside, Caroline Kennedy, whose endorsement of Barack Obama in 2008 was a major setback for Hillary Rodham Clinton’s campaign, as well as a personal blow, said Thursday that she would “absolutely” support Mrs. Clinton should she decide to run for president again.

Ms. Kennedy, whom President Obama recently named ambassador to Japan, is the latest high-profile Obama supporter from 2008 to endorse a potential 2016 run by Mrs. Clinton, who has yet to make her intentions clear.

Ms. Kennedy’s comments on Thursday are another sign that the Democratic Party is coalescing around Mrs. Clinton. Senator Claire McCaskill of Missouri, who also endorsed Mr. Obama in 2008, has declared her support for Ready for Hillary, a “super PAC” designed to foster grass-roots enthusiasm for a Clinton candidacy. David Geffen, a major Democratic donor and former Clinton supporter who had a break with the Clintons in 2008, has also said he would support Mrs. Clinton in 2016.

Caroline Kennedy has already expressed in great detail her allegiance to Team Hillary.

The NY Post goes on to report that both women were recently invited separately to the Kennedy compound in Hyannis Port for an “audition” of sorts.

Sen. Warren’s camp responded swiftly and unequivocally denied the claims made in the New York Post article. “This story is completely made up,” Lacey J. Rose, Sen. Warren’s press secretary, told Boston.com.
