I've read several DU threads lately on the I/P conflict. There has been considerable outrage, including comparisons of the current Israeli actions to Nazi atrocities. These are met with accusations of anti-Semitism.

Well now we have an Israeli media outlet printing the opinion of an Israeli claiming: A) it is not possible for force to be disproportionate, B) genocide is permissible at times and C) genocide is on the table in the current conflict.

Openly calling for genocide is far beyond contemptible. He squarely puts the onus on the will of Israeli 'political leaders and military experts', not just his own despicable notions. This guy thinks he is simply taking current Israeli political thinking to its "logical" conclusion.

As far as this blogger's sentiments go, I feel elements of the Third Reich comparison are valid. Charged words, I know, but the comparison has been all over DU for a while now. After all, Hitler felt the Jews were culturally contaminating the upstanding people of Deutschland. He felt it was necessary to offer protection. Genocide was his prescription as well.

Pointing out that this guy is wrong, and that the comparison is valid is not anti-Semitic. No more so than comparing the attempted genocide in Darfur or Rwanada to the Nazi's 'final solution'.

It is beyond time for all involved to take a BIG step back.
