the absence of belief does not require faith. It is saying there is no evidence for the belief.
Do you need a leap of faith to not believe in Zeus or Baal or Vishnu or the Flying Spaghetti Monster. Or is the absence of belief in the God of the Bible just the one where non-belief is faith?
