He snarked, as he tried to get used to reading the computer screen through his new progressive glasses (DONT SAY BIFOCALS), marveling at the idea of an internet "website" where some old (or, at least, middle-aged) smartass like himself might actually end up stuck on the younger side of things.
Edited to add: In short, you're right. DU skews old for the internet. It just does. Explains a lot.
