1. I remember my absolute joy when Jane Byrne beat out the traditional Democratic Machine.

She was the best thing that ever happened in my lifetime as a voter in Chicago.

I hope the same thing happens with Lewis beating out the entrenched interests and overall creepiness of Rahm Emanuel and his machine.

Two questions though - how honest are Chicago elections these days, if the traditional and entrenched interests are pulling for a certain outcome? Could Lewis win the hearts of many Chicagoans but then be denied a victory due to how corrupt certain aspects of The Windy City happen to be?
