There is anger when a beloved member of your family, someone who is dear to you even if it is not in your immediate family, commits suicide. A dear friend of mine took his life a few months after his wife died and I was first shocked, then sad and then angry he had done so. Even today, years after, there is still that emotional debris he left behind in his family and friends . Shepard felt a legitimate emotion in labeling Robin. The anger is understandable and Robin's children will be grieving and asking themselves ,"why?" for many nights placing a emotional burden on them for the rest of their lives.

Shepard Smith showed a lack of understanding about the deep, dark pit of depression. Some can pull themselves out of it, others live in it, still others cannot face that smothering blanket of despair and take their lives for relief. For this he needs criticism, but I can understand his poor choice of words in calling Robin a coward and his concern about the after effects on Robin's children.
