His friendship with Dulles and other Texans, maybe implications of his involvement with the JFK 'problem'?

Gulf of Tonkin, all the southern Dems pissed about the Civil rights Act, lots and lots of reasons he didn't run for a 2nd term. Oh, Hoover was still running things(something I keep forgetting and I think lots of others do as well).

Too bad, though. Nixon was just another step in the wrong direction.
