(36,437 posts)He could certainly have heard the first dispatch that included the cigar reference. Indeed, he might argue that he heard it while he was dealing with the sick call, so he kind of registered it without paying attention, and only recalled it when he saw the cigars,. which appears to be the argument.
It still doesn't explain how he missed the second call, what he was doing in that subdivision, why he waited almost ten minutes to log his departure from St. Cyr, etc.
An enterprising journalist could probably find the parent of that kid and interview him or her pretty easily. When did this guy leave St. Cyr? It's funny: the New York Times has a story today "tracking" the lives and moments up to the meeting of Darren Wilson and Mike Brown. They include Brown's activities for the day, but they don't include Wilson's - even those that are public record, like the location of the sick call, his apparent presence on Glenark Drive, etc. These are part of the open record. Seems like lazy journalism to me.
