I've been playing four strings a long time. Have a Fender American Deluxe P-Bass and a cobbled together Jazz Bass. I just recently acquired a G&L L2500 five string and am really enjoying it, played a gig on Saturday and was very happy with the playability and sound. It was a toss-up between the G&L and a Fender, but the active/passive set-up on the G&L swayed me at the end. My amp is a Line 6 HD750 with a Line 6 4x10 and an Avatar 1x15 (the Avatar 15 really makes that low B string boom!). Definitely a little overkill for most of the small clubs we play, but I've got lots of headroom when I need it.

Primarily play Blues, but I do Classic Rock, Funk, R&B too. What genre/s are you into?
