31. Obama is held to higher expectations than any president in modern times.

I think part of it is because of the long, dark shadow we came out of in 2009. But still, in 1980, there were worse riots in Miami over a very similar event (cops were acquitted of killing a black man). It took Carter weeks to comment on it and only visited the area after everything was calmed. When he did, his limo was pelted by angry Liberty City residents.

Obama is walking a tight rope and doing it about as well as he can.
