I've made something like $400 in income over the last 3 years, and only have health insurance thanks to Medicaid.. I suppose that makes me 'invariably a rich, white privileged male'.

The people who are pointing out the flaws in a lot of Dems want BETTER Dems, who will actually give a crap about the Dem Party Platform. Not the kind of Dems who 'invariably' water down actual Democratic legislation in ways that make it more difficult for people who aren't making 30k a year already to survive.
