But then I don't even understand massive tattooing & piercing. I guess I'm just too fucking old.


Edited to add--Some people whom I deeply care for & respect are into piercings & whatnot. I don't judge people about it, I just don't understand it.

In the past, most of the people whom I saw with tats/piercings were folks who had had a whole lot of trauma in their lives, & seemed to have gotten the "decorations" at least partly because of the reward functions of the endorphins released die to the tissue injuries. That was certainly true of the many tattooed criminals I did psych evaluations on in past years, but this theory totally breaks down in the present context.
