In reply to the discussion: Question. Did Brown sell cigars at a liquor store? [View all]indivisibleman
(482 posts)it doesn't matter what he did prior to his being murdered by this cop. The cop stopped him for jaywalking and then went berserk.
But what transpired prior to the shooting matters in regard to what I see as a false narrative that is being put forward to defend Wilson's actions.
From the video I see Brown buying some cigars, leaving the box of Swisher Sweets on the counter and walking out with some two-pack cigars. The clerk goes forward and stops him at the door about something and Brown pushes him away as if to say, "you're stupid, go mind your own business".
From this video the defenders of Wilson are saying that Brown did leave with a box of Swisher Sweets (which he didn't) and that he was violent with the clerk (which is an exaggeration) and that he stole from the store (which the market owner denied and the police even cleared Johnson of but say nothing about Brown).
I then thought Jake Tapper said that he went down the street and tried to sell some of his cigars at another store, a liquor store. (smart businessman if this is true) But it is apparent now that Brown and Johnson went directly toward Johnson's home.
All this is important for the case because it has become part of the narrative of defense for Wilson if he claims he saw cigars in Brown's hand. (people are just assuming that he still has them in his hand when he is confronted by Wilson for jaywalking) We don't know if Brown even had the two-packs in his hand anymore. Did he put them in his pocket? Did he hand then over to Johnson? Did he sell them? If he still had them on him, where the heck are they?
So to your specific questions. 1-I don't believe he stole anything. Otherwise the market would have most likely made a complaint. 2. I thought perhaps he went to sell them outside the store where he bought them or somewhere else. I know people who have done this to get some extra cash. 3. The point is if Brown no longer has the cigars when Wilson confronts him then Wilson doesn't see them and can't say that he did in order to claim a second reason for why he confronted the two further. 4. even if Brown has the cigars in his hand and Wilson thinks he may be the guy described on the dispatch call he is still unjustified in shooting Brown for this reason.
It is cold blooded murder to me and the video from the market should have never been released. The police pursued it and released it in order to cast aspersions against Brown. and it is working exactly as they planned it to work. They are a bunch of crooks and they know how these things work. They went into defense mode as quickly as possible. I want to know exactly what transpired and to show where there are flaws in the police narrative because it has bulls&*t written all over it.
