89. Pure Racism

It is my opinion that neither Fox News, nor the Koch Bbrothers have anything to do with the anger in the comments section. That military service is the same as welfare comment is about race. That comment is an example of the phrase, do not let facts get in the way of a good story. People like the person who wrote the comment like to portray black people as lazy and unemployed people looking for a government handout at the expense of hard working white people. For most people being in the military is just the opposite of being lazy and looking for a handout. So, how do you turn a black woman into a welfare queen when she is in the military? Just say military service and welfare are the same thing. I may be wrong, but it is my opinion that if the children in that video had been white the comment that military service is the same as welfare would not have been made.

Also, I do not think the right is turning against the military. They may have just moved on to other things. I remember a post here were someone wrote that people did not realize there were still American troop in Iraq and Afghanistan. Another reason for the lack of support the troops decals on vehicles may be the reason some people were putting them on their vehicles in the first place. It is very possible that for some on the right those decals were more about supporting President Bush than supporting the troops.
