I wish there was a way to remedy this. I've been to plenty of vets with very swanky offices who charge too much for everything. I was just at the vet and paid $150 for him to feel a cat's leg to make sure it was ok (thought there may have been an achilles tendon rupture). If someone told me I would have to put my puppy down because the bills would be too expensive, I don't know what I would do besides become a sobbing mass right there on the floor. Vet bills are rivaling human bills and it is causing so much suffering. And pet insurance is as bad as human insurance as well. When I looked up the possible costs for the tendon rupture, one woman said she amputed her cat's leg because it was $1200 to amputate rather than $3000 to repair the tendon. So sad.
