160. Not a scam

I am way better off than I was before the ACA. Being self employed, I could only afford high deductible insurance. Now I have a low deductible and the subsidy means it costs a lot less.

For once the social safety net is graduated. Before you qualified for Medicaid (and you don't have to make much not to qualify) or if you made just a bit too much for that, you were stuck with almost nothing (a high deductible meaning you'd pay for everything most years).

It's health insurance that keeps people on welfare. Once they made too much for welfare, it was still not enough to get health insurance.

This is a significant achievement for Obama and the 111th Congress. They did the best they could with who they had. If Teddy had lived (or people in MA got out to vote) we might have had a public option.
