Spielbound Board Game Cafe is now open at 32nd and Harney Streets in the former location of Attic Bar & Grill and, before that, Jets.
The cafe is a nonprofit venue where board game enthusiasts can get together and play some games. It now serves coffee and other drinks and will soon serve sandwiches, soups and pastries.
Spielbound offers a library of more than 1,000 board games to play, ranging from classics like Monopoly to new favorites like Settlers of Catan to obscure European strategy games. Many of the games come from the personal collection of Spielbound owner Kaleb Michaud.
The size and diversity of the collection (which the Spielbound site has cataloged here) ensures that there will be a game for every gamer, no matter the age or interests. We want everyone to feel welcome, Michaud said in an earlier World-Herald story.
