(19,537 posts)You can tell voters are being herded by the 1%ers to so-called "open primary" (top two but first known as "jungle primary" in Louisiana) that has already been unfortunately put in place in California and Washington, and I'm trying to help on many fronts fighting here in Oregon this election.
People WANT to feel represented and not to feel like they have just a choice of the "lesser of two evils". That is what is getting us in to these other crappy voting reforms that seep through with 1%er blessing and money. We need to make sure it is done right if it is done! I hope a challenger like Bernie or Elizabeth Warren can lead at some point in this happening.
If we had instant runoff voting in place in 2000, there's no doubt in my mind we would have had president Gore for 8 years instead of the bringer of bad times George Bush! And Ralph Nader wouldn't be demonized today like he has been so much in the past here.
