A shareholder and icon of the company is at liberty to appear in the advertisement. He is also the most recognisable face associated with that company.

None of these things imply that he is breaking US law

He may be a Dick Branson, sorry Sir Dick Branson, for opposing union rights but he is allowed to be a Dick or a Richard (rhyming slang)
