is to reject hate
to reject double standards
to reject hypocrisy

You think it is "reactionary wrongness" to not hate, to not cheer on the spewing of hateful words at the "flaming a$$holes" in the other tribe.

The hippy music that I grew up with and partially quoted has the chorus

"go ahead and hate your neighbor
go ahead and cheat a friend
do it in the name of heaven
justify it in the end
there won't be any trumpets blowing
come the judgement day
on the bloody morning after
one tin soldier rides away"

By which it means, of course - do NOT hate your neighbor and do NOT try to justify that hate.

It kinda depends on what you want to do. Do you want to convince the voting public to raise the minimum wage, or do you just want to feel good about telling the parts of the public who disagree with you to fuck off?

I don't think hate is a good strategy, especially if you end up hating even your own potential allies.
