(80,708 posts)the interwebs, I'd probably put more effort into it.
a few things I'd say- one, if you zoom in on the 'original', there's some weird pixelation around the E in particular. And enough of a subtle shade difference which leads me to think it was cut and pasted. Also, the paper above the S and the E is not translucent like the rest of it is, which could mean someone used the burn or clone tool to darken it rather than leave the jimmied-around numbers showing through. This despite the fact that the paper is the same, the light from the sign behind it is the same, etc.
And yeah, the fucking Zapruder film, this aint. I don't, actually, give that much of a shit. Plus, I could be wrong.
But lastly, "FRISE" is not a real common bad spelling job. It just happens to be one which contains the exact same letters as the correctly spelled word. Far easier for me to believe that someone would write big letters on a sign and not give themselves enough room to finish, than to believe they would spell fries "FRISE". One would assume that if the shop normally sells "FRISE" then the word is somewhere else on that lit up sign that the alleged bad speller taped the damn thing to. So no one would notice when he taped it up? Sure, maybe they're dyslexic.
And again, I could be wrong. Horrors, but it's happened before.
