I meant to address my post to you because you are citing Obama's very confusing language about his stance on the bill.

His response should be quite simple.

He should ask Congress to include in the bill the points (not necessarily the language about muddying the rold of the military) that I raised.

The bill as written will just result in years and years of litigation. It appears to premit violating the Constitutional rights of American citizens.

So, to avoid all that litigation, the president should ask for the simple language I proposed especially the language that limits the role of the military in our borders and the language affirming that the bill does not propose to deny any person in the US his or her rights under the Constitution.

Obama's statement says nothing in my opinion. The legalistic language reminds me of a dog chasing his tale. Lots of activity, but not much achievement.

The statement you cited makes me suspect Obama's intention in this even more than I did before.

I think that Senator Levin is telling the truth and that the Obama administration has requested extraordinary and unconstitutional powers.
