You really believe Reagan alone caused the culture of greed, etc? Wouldn't have happened? He was elected because of it.

When FDR was President, the people had the the will to change things. They elected a Congress too based on that, it was so strong. And it wouldn't have happened without the Depression. For all the exaggeration, this is not a depression on that level. It is absurd to think FDR could have, with an opposing Congress, and no Great Depression, gotten Congress to pass any of the New Deal laws.

The trouble with looking at the Presidency this way is that it abandons our responsibility for self government, and overlooks that the Presidency is not even supposed to be all powerful. Every POTUS gets pushback and that's how it's supposed to be.
