only shortsighted people or fundamentalists believe there is a clear simple answer to all complex social questions.

Its rarely black and white. I am assuming your question does not apply to human rights or the like. For example, there is obviously a clear answer to violence against women, it is unacceptable and a crime.

For public policy questions (which is what I understood to be a "political question&quot , I believe it is not always clear. You can have a well defined set of beliefs and values and yet not agree with somebody with the same values on how to achieve it via political means.
