In reply to the discussion: Best way not to get raped by cops is to ‘follow the law’ [View all]Blue_In_AK
(46,436 posts)Several years ago I was working overtime in the law office late at night on a big project that was due. I headed home about 2:00 a.m. to my then home in Eagle River about 10 miles out. Out on the highway, I noticed a car following me closely for some distance, which kind of freaked me out. Finally, he flipped on his lights and pulled me over. I was doing absolutely nothing wrong, which he admitted. He said he was just wondering what I was doing out so late - as if it was any of his business. I explained I was coming home from work, and he let me go without incident, but it still kind of pissed me off. If I had been driving erratically or something and he wanted to see if I was inebriated, fine, but I was following the speed limit, driving straight and there was NO reason for him to stop me.
We did have a highly decorated cop here who was busted for rape a few years ago for sexually assaulting women right at the station. Sick...
