about (reread my post) is most definitely Al Qaeda. The AUMF is not limited to Pakistan--in fact, it mentions no particular country.

As for ISIL, I am guessing that President Obama chose to not believe the head of AlQaeda Iran when he claimed to have broken up with ISIL.....since apparently we just bombed the head of AlQaeda Iran working alongside ISIL in Syria.
