"So what if the story was fake, it sounds like something he would do" or "Ok, so it was all BS, but he has done other things and the whole conversation was about Obama's failings anyway - so we don't need true stories to be upset about, the fake ones are part of the discussion" and so on.

I recall discussions about the whole discussion of 'xxx said all sex is rape' when, ok no they didn't, but does it matter now if the story isn't true? It's all about the discussion - so base it off anything you want - because even if THAT outrage is something made up there are others that can take it's place.
