It isn't just the south. These so-called 'Christian' extremists who wear ignorance on their sleeves are the greatest danger we face by far. Look what's happening in Jefferson County Colorado right now. The people have elected these ignorant, intolerant dogmatists t the school board, and now they want to rewrite history so social movements aren't taught, instead stressing the value of the individual and obedience to authority.

How on earth does that help anyone?

No wonder the students and the teachers are protesting. We cannot substitute truth for religious dogma, ever.
