What if the America Dream were to be changed? [View all]

I think the construct which has come to be known as the American Dream has changed over the years to fit the demands of the the times. Frankly, it has gone off the tracks. There was a thread yesterday which was all over a poll that pointed to Americans no longer believing "The Dream," writ large, was available to them. Let me suggest that the dream perhaps needs to change to fit the needs of the time yet again. We are no longer a wide open frontier offering boundless resources into infinity. Our planet is suffering. Whole groups of people are being shut out in a ruthless game of grabbing wealth without regard for the common good. Our institutions have been coopted to excuse lawlessness and disregard for civic responsibility all in the name of maximizing wealth acquisition for a few.

I posted this link to an organization which is grappling with dreaming differently and it is worthwhile to visit this site and entertain ideaws of the ideas of an expanded socially and environmentally Dream can be achieved. I would be interested in reading your thoughts on this. The link to the organization is below. How can a new American Dream be operationalized to better reflect the concerns of the people of the nation?
