I've always favored magnet schools, especially at the high school level. I know several young adults in Denver who got a good start on careers in Denver's magnet high schools. These were marginal students who, once they landed in a magnet school that focused on their particular strengths and interests, excelled in high school. The magnet schools are not charters.
