Which means when he was in contact with her she was probably as saturated with the disease as you could get. She was probably in clothes that she had sweated/vomited/bleeded on profusely.
I also believe she was his neighbor.

He couldn't have known he was infected. He certainly knew he had been exposed.

As to when his trip was planned; he had to apply for a visa to travel to the US from Liberia
