I spent 20 yrs as a cop and I prob have about at least 45-50 (not gonna go counting)FB friends who were in the USMC and other branches before they were cops. The comments are pretty bad.

They have said worse things about him reference other topics, but they cant stand him. I have not seen one of them defend it except for a couple saying it was probably not intentional, but they did agree he has no use for the military. When I worked there, they were pretty open about saying how much they didnt like him at all. Much of that was directed at the Beer summit thing right after he was elected. They felt he hated cops too. Some of these guys have served active duty when Obama was elected and they mentioned there was pretty much open comments being made all the time about socialism, anti-military, handcuffing them in the field (silly rules of engagement they say).

Additionally, I retired from the reserves recently and many members there weree pretty open about not having any respect for Pres Obama at all other than they will follow orders because he is the CinC. I was a reservist during the Clinton admin too and it was the same thing then. I have not heard any bashing over race as the military is very much better integrated than the civilian sector so if someone had some racial animosity, I never heard it. Im pretty sure it is there, but no one has walked around spouting it off. It is not very taboo in certain miitary circles to bash the pres- happens all the time. Heard it about Bush all the time- mostly because people were sick of going to Iraq over and over again.

Thats just my observation.
