Atheists aren't a "group of people" in the way that you're trying to pigeonhole them, and atheists don't need you to tell them what they think.
Ultimately, the only generally unifying characteristic among atheists is that they don't believe in a god. The rest of what you're claiming (that they "pride themselves on being enlightened and rational and intellectually superior to the rest of the population"
is simply a lie.
No, this is far from all atheists, but it's enough to make a note of it.
